In short, Mr. or Mrs. Facilities Manager, you need a reliable company like the SEALS that shows up 3-4 times a year to properly inspect your gaskets and your overall refrigeration equipment. They need to be visually inspected, either by an employee or by a professional. To make it easier on restaurants and commercial kitchens, the SEALS offer proactive quarterly inspections (you’ll never worry about your gaskets or refrigerator again!). If you need us in between quarterly inspections, we’ll be there quickly. During our inspections, we’ll email you what we found – with pictures – and provide a cost estimate. You don’t want to delay gasket maintenance, and you certainly don’t want to find out until it’s too late- after health inspection score….or worse, a breakdown of a compressor.
They are primarily made out of flexible, durable synthetic materials to create an airtight seal. The most common is PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), or Silicone (for extreme temperatures), or Neoprene (for chemical resistances). Santoprene gaskets are typically used in higher temperatures – they are highly durable with thermoplastic material that lasts a long time (they can be expensive too).
It’s a high-performing sealing component made from a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) rubber. In certain applications, it’s a better solution for certain circumstances because it can hold up to 275 degrees. This gasket can absorb a lot of heat. Both Santoprene and Silicone gaskets are typically more expensive and they last a lot longer.
